Help With Clutch Problem For 95 Sc300 5-speed

Recommended Posts

I've got a 95 SC300 5-speed with ~127k mi on it. The clutch was replaced a few years ago, iirc, around 110k mi.

Recently, the clutch lever sticks to the floor after being depressed; as a result, I can't get it into/out of gear. At first, it felt like there was something 'sticking' so I shot some silicone lube onto the metal rod that sticks through the floorboard.

Now, the problem has gotten worse. It feels like the pedal is being pulled into the floorboard and it is difficult/impossible to pull it back into position. I'm assuming there is some kind of hydraulic problem where the pressure is pulling the pedal into the floorboard rather than returning it to position.

Anyone know what this problem might be?

Anything I can fix myself?

If I need a mechanic to fix it, is there a way to bleed the hydraulic clutch line? I'm hoping that normalizing the pressure will at least let the pedal return to normal position and work long enough to drive the car to the shop.

Thanks.
