bmegdal
I would like to change the tires on my 2003 LX470 from the stock 265/70-16 to some LT295-75-16's that I have from a previous vehicle. I know the speedometer will then be off, but on elocal shop told me I will have terrible problems with the fuel injection, check engine lite and ABS. Is this true? bmegdal
Must be wishful thinking...it is a 2001 LX470 that I want to put larger tires on. Thanks.
dougjohn
Not true. You will have no problems with fuel injection, check engine light, ABS -- none of it. How the heck will the fuel injector know that you have bigger tires??? You might notice a bit of a loss as far as power goes -- but with the 470, it shouldn't be too bad. If you want to fix the speedo, you can get either a new spedometer gear or an electronic gadget (like the TruSpeed calibrator) to correct the speed on the spedometer. ... Doug p.s. I'm currently running 285/75 R16 and will probably get 315/75 R16 next, with no worries about EFI, ABS, ect.
