Windshield Replacement

Does it make sense to go to the Lexus or Toyota dealer to replace the windshield? I assume they'd send it to someone else just like any regular body work.

I was driving on a highway earlier today and a sizable rock hit my windshield. Fortunately, it did not crack, but it made me wonder where I must go when needed.

If you have full coverage, some insurance companies might cover windshield replacement or repair. If a crack or bullseye is small, it can be repaired.

I had a bullseye on my windshield, insurance company picked up the bill. The glass repair guy came to my work, so I didn't even have to spend time to go anywhere.

I would just go to a windshield shop, not any body shop. Windshield requires someone that is specialist in this. No preference as to Toyota or generic brands.

depends on insurance and the state you are in. Plus doing a repair is again the same thing. I know in MA, they would NOT repair anything in field of vision.

I called my insurance company and went with who they recommended. They came out to my office and replaced it.
