Jerry Bransford Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Our 2003 LS400 does not have an automatic parking brake release for when I shift out of Park, but I could swear my '92 did. Did the '92 release the parking brake automatically?

VBdenny Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 My parking brake gets used exactly once per year and that is at inspection. There is a release under the left side of the dash on mine.
90LS400Lexus Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 No, my 90' had the release on the instrument panel. Can you believe that our old 1976 Lincoln Town Car had an automatic parking brake release? It did, our 78' Town Car did and even my grandmothers old 1972 Lincoln Town Car did. Alot of 70s Fords seemed to have auto parking brake release... my uncle has a 1972 Ford Thunderbird that has the auto brake release, as well as anti-lock brakes (factory)! It should have alot of neat features for the day, because it stickered for over $8000 in 1972! That was an expensive car in its day.
