Need To Change My 2006 Gs430 Windshield

[2006 LEXUS GS 430]

I asked the dealer and they quote me for $1700 + $500 labor.

and I check with PPG glass and it will cost me about 600-700.

should i go with OEM from LEXUS dealer?

any one changed the windshield before?

Very few dealers actually change the glass themselves, they usually send it out to an auto glass shop but more often they have the shop's van come out and do it at the dealership in a back lot. These are the same elves that add pinstriping, ScotchGuard the fabric, repair little glass dings, minor detailing, etc.

If you have an Elite Auto Glass shop in your area, they are consistantly cheaper than the rest and do a good job.
