bellingham
recently my ls400 ignition would stick in the start position and needed a nudge to return to on. now, the starter will stay on even if the key is turned to off. only when the key is removed will it stop. Is this the ignition switch or other? Any PDFs on how to pull the switch?
landar
The symptoms do seem to indicate that your ignition switch is end of life. You might try spraying some cleaning agent(not WD40) into the lock cylinder and then blowing the cylinder out with compressed air. Sometimes lint and dirt gets into the lock and strange things begin to happen.
jzz30
sounds more like a dying starter. the solenoid contacts are probably fusing together from excess resistance. you need to get a rebuild or buy a new starter. i had this happen once on my previa van. the starter kept going even when the key was out of the ignition. i had to pull the battery.
