Message says can't read the disk.....dealer says i need a $1500 ECU???something like that...the black box in the truck the dvd goes in. Can anybody offer a cheaper solution. Thanks

Obviously try cleaning the disk first... :)

If that doesn't work these units come up for sale on Ebay occasionally; I'm not sure if a GS or LX unit would work in the LS but it might.

Also you might try a more recent nav disk; the first gen units had firmware that was updated in later nav disk versions; if yours was updated and then someone put an earlier disk in it might generate this error.
