Going Bonkers With The Es350 Navigation

Hi folks,

Here is my predicament:

Let's say I enter a destination to route to.

Lexus now gives me 3 routes to choose from. What I would like to do is right then, see a turn by turn direction for each route to know which one to take. The map it shows me with all 3 routes overlayed with different colors is not enough for me to discern the difference at a micro level.

However, before I select one of the routes, I see no way to see turn-turn directions. Is this not possible?

Now let us get to the next question. Let me assume that indeed, there is no way for me to see a turn by turn directions till I select a route. So, now, when I select a route, I get the "Map View" button at the bottom. The manual says if I press it, then I can press "Turn list" to see the route. But here is the rub - the "Turn list " button seems to be active/visible only if I start driving my car towards that route!! Auugh. I certainly don't want to start driving on a route to be able to see a turn by turn list. I'd like to see it before I start!

What am I missing?

For question 1 there is no way to do it. You have to guess based on the highlighted section or just wing it. Its a pain I agree.

For question 2 the turn list is only available after the system has locked into the route and has calculated the time remaining, and this only happens once you've started moving along the route, thats a pain too.
