Controls On Steering Wheel

Recommended Posts

Hi. I have a 2007 IS 250. When I use the controls on the steering wheel to select a different radio station, it seems as if my controls are set backwards. If I hit the “up” (^) button on the steering wheel, it selects the radio station “below” and vice versa. The Lexus tech. told me this is how it should work. Is this true?

Hello,

The arrow buttons follow the radio present station numbers. I.e. 1 through 6. When I hit the up button the station will go from preset 2 to 3 for instance.

Graphically, assuming that you have the Navigation option, the display would show a downward moment based on the layout of the radio soft buttons on the touch panel.

Is this what you are talking about??? If yes, then it is normal.

Regards,

Thanks for the quick response! Yes, I do have the navigation option. It makes sense now. If I hit “up,” then it’s going up to the next preset. It just looked kind of odd hitting the up button on the steering wheel and seeing it make a downward motion on the display. Thanks again for clarifying this for me!!

Are your presets in ascending numerical order? Or descending? Or random? i.e., is Button 1 88.1; Button 2 95.5; Button 3 101.5, etc? Or, are they descending? If they are descending, you go "up" with the arrow from preset 1 to preset 2, but from station 95.5 to 88.1.

EDIT: Oh--I think I saw what you meant this a.m. On the nav screen, presets are 1-3 in the left column, and 4-6 in the right, so when you hit "^" it highlights the next station shown below? Was that it?

Either way, up or down is for the preset numbers, as Gaugster said.
