I woke up around 7 in the morning to do a light wash ( water only ), with a quick polish, and a slow wax.

All were Maguire Products.

Light Wash with water

Dry off with leaf blower ( it REALLY does work! )

Quick detailing with clay

Polish

Cleaning the rims and tires

Window cleaning

Quick detail

Took me about an hour and a half to do all of this.

Nice looking ride!

Personally, I would never wash my car without the lubrication of a good automotive car wash. Perhaps the silver color doesn't show fine scratches very easily, but with a dark color I think washing with water only would be asking for trouble even with a good quality MF mitt.

But I do love the leave blower idea. I picked up on that one from this forum and it works so well, especially for blowing water out of small cracks, that I wonder why I didn't think of that years ago! Not only does it save a bundle of time, it also reduces the amount of rubbing you have to do with a towel (and hence further reducing the chance for scratching).

I really don't know why, or how for that matter, the last owner of this car kept his paint clean. It has taken me more than a MONTH to get ALL of the dirt, grime, dust, and whatever else was stuck in the paint. I literally scrubbed every nanometer on my car.

I just did a paint clean and a polish yesterday, and it looks AMAZING now. Only problem is, my Mom has my camera, and my brothers' camera is a joke. I'll try my best and get some pictures up by the end of this week if I'm not committing any time to work, or my girlfriend(s) for that matter.

The only problem I have left is cleaning the head lights. The shine lasts for a while, and then the scratches start to appear. Would anyone have any tips on how to remove such annoying things?
