Check Engine Light Always

Hello All,

I own a 94 LS400 that has had a recent problem. The car has 235K miles and ran fine until just recently. Replaced the oil and 800 miles later began to notice intermittent loss of power. Almost felt like loss of fuel for a moment. Began steep climb and problem came back with a vengeance. Car lost almost all power....would not restart....mechanic claims he got error code 31 and so I replaced the Air Flow Meter....500 miles later it began to happen again.

Car will not idle without depressing gas pedal continously and dies/stalls out when you let off.

Check engine light is lit.

Trac light is lit.

Tried to jumper Te1 and E1 for a diagnostic but the CEL just stays on and does not blink at all. Is that normal or indicative of perhaps a faulty ECU? Reset ECU by disconnecting neg. cable for over 10 seconds, same fault.

In closing, the car sounds really rough when I do have it running....

How do you know when your ECU is faulty? Does the CEL always being lit while jumpered mean the ECU has crapped out?

I have spark and am checking to make sure I got fuel right now....

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
