99blkgs Posted August 26, 2007 Share Posted August 26, 2007 both these cars are 300's and both 99. when first off in the morning i start either or of them they rev at about 1500-1700 rpm for a few minutes, till the engine warms. i used to have a 98 gs that didnt do this? any suggestions is this also happening to someone else? help thanx kenny. Also check your spark plugs, they can also be the leading cause to high idle rpm's. i dont really know if thats the case because i have just did tune ups on both of them also the timing belt and the trans flush and they still rev high every time the car rests for a few hours, but only for a couple of minutes, do you think it could be something else maybe something having to do with the throttle body? thanx much kenny Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I had a saturn that did the same exact thing, the oil was fine, and I later found out that the Spark Plugs were needed to be replaced.
