Gs 300 Engine Cover

I bought my 99 GS300 about 2 years ago. I was searching the web the other day and noticed an 04 or 05 GS300 that had a cover over the engine intake. Is this standard on all GS300's or just certain year models?

I'm not sure of the year Lexus started to use this engine cover on GS's, but that now seems to be a standard type of feature on their complete lineup of models, mainly because it looks neater, and supposedly reduces underhood noises slightly.
