Eric Erickson
I have an '06 GS 300 with all the options. If I get the oil changed from anywhere else than Lexus the computer on the dash continues to tell me that the oil change is past due. Is there a way to reset the computer so I do not have to go back to the dealership?

Is there a way to reset the computer so I do not have to go back to the dealership? I had a similar problem with my GS430. The procedure in the owner's manual is written incorrectly. I believe you can reset the oil change indicator by holding down the odometer reset button, pressing the start button (turning on the accessories) - continue to hold down the odometer reset until it says something like "Oil Mileage Reset". If that's not the exact procedure - it's pretty close. It's definitely some combination of holding down odometer reset and turning on the car... I usually just play around with combinations of those two things until it resets - and never bother to remember exactly what did it... On the left control panel "thingy" where you pop the trunk, there's a reset button there that clears the reminder...
