95 Ls400 Shutting Off After Driving 1 Hour+, While Coasting To A Stop

My 95 LS400 shuts off after driving long distances. The car always shuts off while coming to coast, i.e., a light or a rest area. It will start back up, but only after a few minutes. There are no other symptoms - Everything else is fine. Except for this problem, the car runs great. I've seen a posting on here concerning this same problem, but I was not able to narrow down the fix. Lexus/Toyota did not find anything wrong with the car.

You need a new ECM. The new part number is:

For 1995's:

Your original Ecm is either:

89661-50220 or 89661-50221 if Federal (49 state). Lexus new replacement on the TSB says to replace with 89661-50224

If the original part is a California ECM it will end in 5023x where x is 0 or 1. Replace it with 89661-50234. It's a known issue and that's the solution.
