Maintenance / Repair / Diy Job Cost

Recommended Posts

Dear All,

First time, Newbee here.

As I ment for this thread to be a a starting point for job done and cost assocaited with the job.

If this is not appropriate, please forgive me.

Anyway, I went to the mechanic yesterday to check on my 93ES. It stalled twice within 2weeks time.

it jerks around 1000-1500rpm. I was able to restart it right away.

So, the mechanic grab the diagnostic code. I saw that it was blinking 2 -4 -3 - 1.

I looked it up in this forum (thank you all very much) and directed to the BAT site (www.troublecodes.net/lexus)

it was 24: IAT Sensor signal & 31/32: Air Flow meter signal.

at first the mechanic was gonna remove/replace the parts that house the sensor.

he said it would go for more than $200 for a used one. as he was getting ready to replace it. he clean the 'hoose'.

and found that the hose itself was broken.

so, I paid $130 for the hose.

My big quesion for this post is... Is that a fair price? $130 to replace the intake hose.

Thank you all.
