I Have To Buy New Tires Please Help?

Hello I have to buy new tires on my 1999 GS 400, I wanted to know if I can go a little bigger and lower profile on the stock 17x8 wheels. My stock size is 235/45/17 and I was wondering about putting on 245/40/17, Does anyone know what this setup looks like or how the car handles with this size of tire on it. Any input would be great! hey dave,

i have a 93 GS 300 and I;m running 18 in wheels. I put a set of 245/45/18 to give the car mre tire from the rim to the ground. i cruise over potole and other bump my buddies don't with their 235/40s or 245/40. Just my two cents, plus the car handles great! if you know anyone looking i have a tranny for sale, needs repair but it's cheap! Just installed a tranny to hold more horsepower!
