wwest Posted April 29, 2007 Posted April 29, 2007 I have a 1990 lexus ls400 and i have changed my power steering pump recently and i changed my alternator 3 times why is it that lexus never made a recall on this. SInce so many have problems In general the alternator doesn't fail prior to ~100,000 miles which is well past any reasonable warranty period and isn't a serious safety issue/problem so it doesn't fall into the realm of a recall. I'm surprised at 3 times since my 92 LS's alternator didn't wear down the (too) soft metal of the commutator ring until about 150,000 miles. Apparently the alternator failures have nothing to do with the PS leak.
hjcaywood Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 How do you go about replacing the PS pump? Where do I start taking stuff off to get to it? Please help!!!!!!!!!
