Stock Radio Lights Out

Hey guys...just wondering if anyone else out there has had this happen. Two buttons have had the light "burn out" on them...the AM button and the FM1/FM2 button. Now I called Lexus and they said that the whole head unit has to be replaced just to make those lights come on for about $800 I was wondering if anyone knew if this was true or maybe another way that I can replace those lights...cuz it is annoying but not worth $800...

Some of the digits on the radio display of mine went out and Lexus replaced the entire unit for free. This was just four months ago. I was told it was under warranty still.

I bought mine used '98 with 80K on it now (I drive like there is no tomorrow now!) Are you still within your bumper to bumper or do you know if this was an extended deal?

I bought mine used too, and I have an extended warranty, but not through Lexus. However, at the dealership, it was stated to me that it was still under the factory warranty. I didn't think it was, but then again, I didn't argue. ;)

Good call! I gave it a shot and called but they said 4yr or 50K mi unless extended warrenty...guess who didn't buy one Thanks for the insight though...
