mlbaum Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 When I close the power rear door on my RX330, it emits two warning beeps. The owner's manual mentions that it is possible to silence this beep (p. 39) but doesn't indicate how to do it. It recommends asking the dealer. Unfortunately, my dealer did not know how to do it. Any tips?
SW03ES Posted August 25, 2003 Posted August 25, 2003 There are settings the dealer can alter called "C-BEST" settings, I'm sure this warning beep is changeable through the C-BEST system. if your dealer doesn't know how to do THAT, I would reccomend you not service the vehicle there.
JRB Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 In a different forum it was said that the owner's manual is in error and there is no way to eliminate the beeps by using C-Best. You can apparently change the number of beeps for the rear door but two beeps is the minimum.
jazzfaninutah Posted September 7, 2003 Posted September 7, 2003 Just had my 1,000 mile service and asked the service manager about eliminating the beep for the rear door. He researched as said it was a safety feature and could not be done.
