Guidance And Telephone Conflict

I'm learning this new Nav system after coming from an RL (some better things, many worse). Is there any way to have the nav voice guidance work when you are on the phone? Mine clearly has a phone override, whereas the nav in the RL is part of the whole electronics and would reduce the phone volume and give it's commands.

The RX350 nav is not well incorporated in the system IMHO.

I found that by pressing the Map button (1st on the left); it displays the map and switches back to the guidance mode, but the voice guidance commands are suppressed until you hang up.
