Poor Voice Recognition (dial By Number)

I bought my ES 352 weeks ago, and I'm very pleased with the car EXCEPT for voice recognition problems. So far, I've only experienced these problems while attempting to use the phone "dial by number" feature. I have no problem activating the command, but when I am prompted for the number, the computer repeatedly fails to recognize certain number combinations. I live in the 412 area code, and the computer has never once properly recognized "412" -- the mistakes I end up with are not even all that consistent.

I don't know whether this problem will extend to other voice commands -- I have yet to figure out how to use the nav system to any great degree -- I don't find the manual to be all that helpful.

I don't think it's an issue with speaking clearly -- I've been using voice recognition software regularly at work for the last 10 years. I don't know if there is any way to "train" the system -- again, I'm having difficulty figuring out the ins and outs of the system.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

It is what it is. I am sorry to tell you this as I came from the Acura family and the VR is excellent. Lexus is OK if you are stopped and in a quiet area. There is no learning function. Sorry
