artbuc
Re 99 RX300, today I noticed slack in the accelerator cable. Some in the cable itself and more in the yoke (don't know the proper word) the cable connects to on the throttle plate. All these years I thought the engine had a hesitation because you would push on the accel pedal and nothing happened for the first 1/4" then boom, the engine would speed-up. Now I am wondering if what I thought was engine hesitation is nothing more than excessive slack in the accel cable. Can anyone tell me how much slack I should have? Any problem with adjusting some, most or all of the slack out to get a faster accel pedal response? Thanks.
