cmarko Posted August 7, 2003 Posted August 7, 2003 Is there a trick to performing an oil change on the Lexus SC400 (1992)? From what I can tell, you need to remove the undercarriage panel to access the drain plug--is that the only way to get to it??? If so, it seems like a design "overkill" as I've experienced with my BMW 750iL and I always thought the Japanese were a little more efficient in their designs compared to the Germans??
AWJ Posted August 7, 2003 Posted August 7, 2003 You thought wrong. My panels are removed but they should be replaced. Thing is, they are so torn up, I want new ones. There probably is a way to get at the drain plug - but I don't know it. I don't think the quick change guys remove the panel. They may just loosen 1 side and bend it out of the way. Not sure though. Have to reference the manuals.
lexsc3 Posted August 9, 2003 Posted August 9, 2003 there isnt any panels in the way of my drain plug for my oil on my sc300, it might be different for your car though
