Gs430 Headers On L-tuned

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know anything about these headers, and could somebody give me some info on what these would do for an NA 430? I'm much weaker than some of you on this stuff, still learning.

I have the SRT intake package sitting in my garage, still working on fabricating a better CAB, incorporating the stock snorkel behind the grill, and I may open up the exhaust a bit. I'm wondering how much performance the headers will bring to my car, if they help push anymore air through . . . and what makes these headers "better" than the stock?

Any insights would be great.

Thanks.

Are they the S&S headers?I am currently installing a set and they are a :censored: .I dont expect huge gains as the stock manifolds arent too bad.

Yeah, they are the S&S.

I would love some detail: what about your factory exhaust, did you do a whole new exhaust, do you need to in order to get the benefit of the headers, what about sensors, how hard of an install, etc. I'm really considering these, so let me know what you think. Also, noise level once you get it done.

Hey, didn't we exchange a couple of posts about intakes, or BFI on the GS? I guess I'm following all your mods, if so. I still have the SRT sitting in the box, haven't had time to work on it. I want to integrate the factory snorkel, since it sucks air right out of the front grill (great engineering), and make it more of a true CAB, while ensuring it gets plenty of air. The factory snorkel would only AUGMENT the air flow, not be the only source. But why turn down great cold air right from the front grill?

Anyway, thought that was you, but if not, sorry.

Good luck.

No I didnt replace the whole exhaust just the headers and Borla mufflers.Once its all done Im going to an exhaust to have the mid-section done in 2.5in. and replacing the resonator with an X pipe.Ill have to let you know on the noise levels but from what Ive researched it shouldnt be much louder. On the sensors they thread right in its removing the old manifolds thats a pain.Im anxious to see what you get done on the factory snorkel Ive always thought of doing this but have never had the time. Please post and let us know how it goes. Here is a good link on the headers.Good Luck http://www.clublexus.com/forums/showthread...highlight=S%26S

Holy crap, that looks like a pain. I'm not sure I want to do that myself, but by the looks of it, since there are some minor "mods" necessary, you would want someone you trusted for sure so they don't hack up your car and do it right. Since you're just up the road in Indy, maybe you could just do mine now that you have the hang of it! (I'm in Louisville.)

I'm pretty tight on time for the next few weeks, but I'll take pics of my "SRT - BFI" as I work on it and post them as soon as I'm done.
