Cluster Dead........changing Out Question.

Recommended Posts

Hi there. I have a 98 GS400. One day I started the car up and notice that the RPM and fuel gauge is dead. All the other gauges work fine. Car runs fine. My question is I found another Cluster, but it has about 8,000 miles more. Can I just install that cluster or is it not gonna work cause the mileage isn't the same? I really don't care about the mileage being more. I just need it to work.

So can I just install the new cluster? I heard somewhere that if the mileage isn't reset properly by the dealers the new cluster will just show XXXXXX or blank.

Thanks for the help........
