RomyCHA
Does anyone here autocross their GS? I am curious how well the GS'es do at autocrosses. I would like to autocross the GS, but the factory suspension is real sloppy. I have mine lowered, but I am looking for other suspension pieces. I can't really find any though. The thing that I am really interested in finding, is a way to tighten the steering a little. It has too much play if you ask me.
djfergi
I autocrossed my GS last May with stock suspension. The car did exceptionally well. I never lost control or even felt like I was going to lose control. I'm actually going out to Gingerman Raceway in South Haven, MI in May of this year. RomyCHA
Is your GS still running with stock suspension?
djfergi
Not anymore, it was. The only reason I changed it was to get rid of the float in trade for a more BMW like ride.
RomyCHA
Do you mind if I ask what kind of suspension, and components you have?
djfergi
Right Now I have the following : L-Tuned Struts (Rebadged KYBs) L-Tuned Springs (Rebadged Eibachs) TRD FSTB (Front Strut Tower Brace) Daizen Sway Bars (On Order) Daizen Control Arm Bushings (On Order) Tom's RSTB (Rear Strut Tower Brace) These are the only mods I have done to the suspension. The car still rides like a lexus should, but now has much more control.
RomyCHA
I've seen the Daizen products, but whenever I call a dealer close to me, which is still about 5 hours away, I always get the guys voicemail. What do you think about the lower arm bars... the brace for the frame under the car?
djfergi
The Lower Brace would defintely tighten things up even more. The only reason I haven't bought it yet is due to the roads in RI being bad. The lower brace will definetely stiffen the ride up.
