Lexus Lx470 Nakkamichi Cd Changer

Well, I am a newbie here but not to my 2000 LX470.. :) I Love it. It just turned over 100,000 miles yesterday.

Anyway, I also LOVE my music. The only thing that disapointed me about the LX470 was the sound system. I thought Nakkamichi was supposed to be super high end. The speakers sound dull and the eject/load 6 cd changer is a PITA. Last week it got jammed. I searched this forum thoroughly but no complete answers to the question of alternatives were available.

I went to a reputable car audio dealer and when he removed it , it showed that it had been repaired before therefore making a refurbished unit. He said like many others on this forum that it sucks and it will happen again. The estimated cost of repair is $275 +/-. The estimated cost of a brand new one (with the same lousy engineering) is $2000 !!! I just refuse to believe that there are no other options than the Pioneer which essentially the same thing and I am not sure it wil fit the 2000 model.

I will spare you my ranting and raving and just hope some one out there has some ideas or even knows of some one that might really know their stuff!

Thanks so much!

Tracy
