Penderman Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Hello everyone, I am new to this forum. I have a 2001 IS300 black on tan, auto, 57k, stock. I have a bad O2 sensor, bank 2 sensor 2. Should this sensor last longer than 57k miles? Could an exhaust leak show a bad sensor? The cat has some scratches on it, but it does not rattle when I bang on it. Thanks for your help.
steviej Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 I had B1S1 go at 37k and B2S1 go at 50some oddK. So, no it is not odd for them to go. Where is the exhaust leak in relation to the sensor? steviej

I am not sure if there is a leak, it just seemed to have a lot of fumes near the engine when I was under the car lookig at the O2 sensor. I was wondering if there was a leak prior to the cat, would it give a bad reading? Probably just a bad sensor, but I'd like to be sure before shelling out $130-160 for a sensor. Do you know where I can find out what month my car was made? Apparently there is a different sensor depending on early 01 or late.(according to O2 website). Thanks again.
