Build #?

I've been checking out the forum since I got my GX a little over a month ago, and I'm curious if there's any significance of the build #, i.e. 9700G, other than its relation to production? Also, is there a way you can tell what the build # is if I don't have the window sticker since I bought it used? I have 04/04 as the production date, and the last few digits of the VIN is 50015.
