When dropping the tranny pan, and cleaning the screen, is there a sensor that needs to be replaced or cleaned inside?

Nope, nothing you need to replace.

'93 A540-E without the filter.

When you do drop the pan, there will be three, or four little magnets on the bottom of the transmission pan. Clean those, the pan & everything you can reach off.

I've found Black RTV is the best for new gaskets. (It's unbeatable on oil & transmission pans!)
