Brake Rotor Debris On Paint....please Help!

Recommended Posts

Okay here's what happening...my drivers side rear brake caliper is stuck so my caliper is actually grinding on the rotor and I've noticed here recently that my paint feels rough to the touch and is turning a rusty orange color...especially on the rear bumper under the tailights. I am currently getting the brake problem fixed, but I'm afraid that I might have ruined the paint. Is there anything I can do to removed this before it becomes permanent or is it already too late? PLEASE HELP!!!

The easy solution is Detailing Clay. It is specifically designed to remove this kind of paint contamination without damaging the paint.

In your case, super hot metal and brake pad particles are striking the paint and fusing. The orange is oxidation. You should get the problem fixed ASAP or you'll be looking at a paint job and new brakes!
