Paul Smith
Hello all, I am about to purchase a 1999 GS 400 black/tan with 84,000 miles on it. I am having a hard time figuring out the warranty issue. The warranty I would buy would cover me for 3 years and include electronics coverage. The cost would be about $2,500. I got into the GS to reduce some credit card debt and lower my monthly auto payment (sold my 2001 black Vette convert). The GS is a one owner immaculate condition car, everything is almost like new including the engine components and the only work ever done on the car was suspension around 70,000 miles. When I bought the Corvette the seller had a warranty on it that he transferred to me, if I sell this warranty back to the warranty underwriter I get about 1,700 dollars back, or I could just apply it to the Lexus warranty. I am willing to accept a little risk and plan on keeping the car 3-4 years, any strong opinions out there about the warranty issue?
