bigleechild
I have a 2000 lx 470 and the drivers seat is beginning to show cracks in the leather. Has anyone had their seats re-upholstered. How do you find out the brand of leather to use? Or does everyone just buy new seats. If that is the case is there someone out there that sells lexus lx 470 seats besides ebay? I just found this site and think it is extremely informative and helpful. Thanks for any suggestions you may provide.
Jim_Chow
IIRC, there was one guy with a LX450 (posted on the ih8mud forum) who happened to mention in passing (while at the dealer for different service) that the leather was cracking. His dealer manager called him up later saying they ordered him replacement leather covers, free of charge! So you might try your dealer next time it's in for service and subtlely mention that you expected the leather to last longer on such an expensive vehicle, etc., and see if they do anything. If you always take your vehicle in for scheduled dealer service, they tend to be more sympathetic (i.e., more willing to pick up all or some of the cost). I heard this from the parts manager at a Toyota dealer.
