I'm currently in the middle of swapping the engine in my 93 ES300, and my nephew decided he would help me out by cleaning up my cv joints. He wiped off my markings on the cups and seperated them, so I'm not sure how they were originally put together. How can they be properly realigned, or does it really matter?

Explain to me more on how he "cleaned them up" before you put them on & I have to tell you that you ned to bust them back out again. ;)

And what's the cup? Sorry, I only know what the Toyota book tells me.

Only the outside, he hit it with some kind of degreaser and wiped it down, but left it seperated. It doesnt look like he screwed around with the inside (still mounds of grease)

sorry, here is a little more clarification. I had the cv joints redone about 6 months ago, so im not messing around with the actual boots or anything, just the cups and the point where it enters the transaxle. He cleaned my markings and the grease off the outside of the cups, but seems to have left the inside alone.
