Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Even though the RX has a tire pressure monitoring system, it's not a replacement for checking your own tire pressure. Here's why:

The system does NOT check actual tire pressure, rather it infers RELATIVE pressure between the 4 tires. It does this by sensing the rotational frequencies of the 4 tires. When one tire is spinning at a radically different rate, it probably means that the diameter of the tire is different than that of the other tires... often due to tire pressure.

Thus, if you have 4 under inflated tires, the system will not go off.

The purpose of this system is really to let you know when you get a flat or a slow leak.

Also, the speed sensors are located at the spindle, not on the wheel so rotating the tires will not matter.
