Seanie
Ok.. first off I did a search, and there is a similiar topic right bove this one that doesn't answer my question. I have a 98 GS300 and I am going to install an aftermarket cdplayer/navigation into it. I am an installation shop manager and I have been installing for 10 years but I was looking for some easy answers instead of a long drawn out process of testing. The harness on the back of the radio is a standard 1761 (if you are familiar with metra part #'s) harness. The same one found on all toyotas since the dawn of the 80's. However, the wires are not in the "normal" locations. I need a link to the wiring colors or a list of them if possible. I have found power with no problems but I need to find the amp turn on and the speakers signal wires. Also, if I need any special type of adaptor that would be handy info as well. My shop has a book that lists a 70-8112 harness (which is the RCA input harness used on amplified Avalons, etc..) this is not the correct harness. Any help is greatly appreciated, -Sean

Seanie
Been searching for a half hour and everything that comes up shows the incorrect harness that uses the rca outputs of the radio. Shows a single plug which is NOT what I need.

Seanie
Saw that post and skipped over it because it showed a link to the wrong harness. Then it stated that he didn't have the info on the factory remote turn on. However I did miss the pdf file somehow. I did come across numerous posts by you, which all seemed to include this wonderful smiley: <_< and alot of "blah blah blah, search newb" type of posts. Instead of being a toolbox, you could have just kept your trap shut or posted the link, which I would think should be a sticky over in the audio forum at the very least. So, EFF you very much for the "help"

The amp is triggered over the data bus with a serial data stream.
