No luck yet ← Then you should have found this <_< ← I've seen this posting before but I don't have time to send in my wheel. I found a wood wheel on lextasy for the GS3 but I am not sure if they are still selling it. I tried to contact them to see what's up. Maybe I'll try a junk yard to see if they have a damaged GS that doesn't need the wheel anymore. Thanks
Neo
Maybe I'll try a junk yard to see if they have a damaged GS that doesn't need the wheel anymore. Thanks ← This won't work either. The GS did not come with a wood steering wheel until the 01 model. Even if you get a hold of the 01-05 wheel, you would have to keep 2 things in mind: 1. Your GS400 has e-shift. The 01-05 GS430s do not have eshift so you will have to find a wood wheel on a 01-05 GS300. If you don't need eShift or don't care, you can just put on a GS430 wheel. 2. The shape of the steering wheel changed between the 98-00 and the 01-05. This means your current airbag won't fit and you will need to get the newer shaped airbag. A followup problem is that Lexus also changed the type of airbag with the 01-05 too. They are 2-stage instead of single-stage that your car has. This means the plugs are different. The one silver lining is that it CAN be done. You just need to get the appropriate wheel and the airbag from an 01 RX300. This airbag is unique in that it has the new shape but is still single-stage. Getting this combo, however, takes either luck or money to spare.
