woody71 Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 I recently purchased a 2002 ES300. It has just over 60k miles. I have noticed when I get in the car after it has been setting for a while, and I start to drive I hear a sound like a aluminum can pop or crackle. I have narrowed the sound to the ABS pump. Is this a normal sound or do I take it to dealer :cries: Also, I'm sure its not but would this be covered under the factory powertrain warranty. Thanks
steviej Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 no that sound (from what you describe) is not normal. But then again, I would have to hear it to be sure. The ABS system does make a sound on start up, but not on first motion. and the brakes are not part of the powertrain so it is not covered under that warranty. Best bet would be to find out what kind of warranty or guarentee came with the purchase if any at all and try to get it covered under that. steviej
