Latest Key Programming Method

Hello,

I did research and I found some notes here and there but I got lost.

If somebody knows the method for programming a remote for a 97 ES300, please let me know. I would really appreciate it.

In order to program the new remote, we:

1. opened the driver side door and made sure the key was out of the ignition

2. inserted the key into the ignition and removed it without turning

3. using the power lock, we locked and unlocked 5x

4. we closed and reopened the door

5. using the power lock, we locked and unlocked 5x

6. put the key in the ignition and turned it to the on position then turned it off and removed it

7. after the locks cycle (the car did this itself) we held the lock and unlock button simultaneously for 1 sec

8. we held the lock button for 2 sec

The problem arised after the locks cycle. We saw that the locks cycle occured and when we held the two keys simultaneously, we heard another cycle. Then we held the lock button for 2 sec but nothing happened. THen, when we tried to use the remote, it didn't work.

Any ideas as to why it didn't work?
