TruBaller Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 Hi...well I don't really know how to explain it becuase it's kind of hard to understand...OKay well you know how automatic car works right....when I step on the gas it would go and then the RPM would jump up to 3 or 4 (depending on how you step on the gas) then it drop back to 2 RPM and it would just get stuck on 2 (no matter how hard i step on the gas) until I'm going over 40 MPH then the RPM meter would start moving up...but something it would work right and just run smoothly.....does this mean I need a new tranny?...or is there a way to fix it?...pls help...thanks
KY3TS Posted June 24, 2003 Posted June 24, 2003 DON'T KNOW ABOUT LEXUS BUT MY G.M. CAR HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM AND IT WAS THE SPEED SENSOR CONTROL THAT WENT BAD. THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT RIGHT AND THE TACH WOULD JUMP . OCCASSIONALLY, IT WOULD WORK FINE THEN ACT UP AGAIN. IT COST ME ABOUT $180.00 TO GET IT FIXED AT A G.M. DEALER. HOPE THIS HELPS--GOOD LUCK LETS US KNOW WHAT'S WAS THE PROBLEM.
TruBaller Posted June 25, 2003 Author Posted June 25, 2003 Is it possible to fix the speed sensor youserlf?...If so can someone out there explain to me..Or I just got to take it to the shop...I'm tired of having Mustang think that they could smoke me...
