damon
I'm replacing the air bags on my 96 LS400. I want to make sure I do it right and they are safe. What is a clock spring? How do I know if it is bad? How do I get the air bag light to turn off? Do I need to replace the computer? Any other input? I want this car to be SAFE! zigenfiver
Safety first, disconnect the battery. Then from the back of steering wheel there should be two plastic covers one on each side to reveal the 4, T30 Torx wrench bolts that hold the air bag to the steering wheel. Unscrew these bolts and disconnect the wiring harness and your in business. Check out www.lexls.com, under tutorials and under the lighting section to see how to turn off the air bag light and clear the diagnostic code.
