greatfalls
On a 2005 RX330 without navigation system, the cruise information display for average fuel consumption after refueling does not reset unless 6 to 8 gallons of fuel are added at refuel and there is no way for me to manually reset this calculation (which was possible in the RX300). The Lexus service manager in Fife, WA told me that fuel float level has to move a certain distance before the microprocessor would reset this display. Then after several fill ups of only 3 or 4 gallons, the fuel gauge will no longer read full even though the tank is full. However, if 6 to 8 gallons are subsequently added, the fuel gauge will then read full again and the average miles per gallon will reset to zero. Unbelievable Lexus could design a vehicle to work this way. Has any one else had either on of these problems or know of a solution?
ColinBarber
I guess they don't expect people to be filling up with only 3 or 4 gallons at a time. The only solution is to fill up with at least 6-8 gallons at a time.
