ziffle2000
I will be purchasing a used 1999 RX300 in the next few weeks. I have come across some individuals on the internet that claim their vehicle is AWD but I have my suspicions. In looking at them at the dealer, the salesperson would always refer to the VIN to determine if the car was AWD. I should have asked him then but didn't. What do I look for in the VIN to determine the RX300 is AWD?? Thanks!
Unlisted
the fourth letter is a H = 4WD G = 2 WHEEL DRIVE EX ..JT6HF = 4WD You have until dec 31st to get a 99 from a lexus dealer that is certified. After that 00 is the oldest
wwest
A quick look at the inside of either rear wheel will confirm AWD or not. AWD will have a CV joint/boot and driveshaft entering the center of both rear wheels.
Ilchik
I prefer using this lexus vin decoder, simply paste the vin there I found my AWD IS this way, check the "Drive Type" For example, JTHCK262672011965 is AWD, and JTHBF5C20C5171211 is RWD (4x2)
