Normal Cruise control quit working. The light flashes

Hi all.  Just bought used 2007 Lexus es350 for granddaughter.  Cruise control worked while test driving.  Now, 1 day later, the light only flashes when I turn on CC. Speedometer works fine, no engine codes.  Since the light blinks, I am assuming the switch on the steering wheel is okay, I assume the brake light switch is good since the brake lights operate as they should. I also assume the fuse is good since the switch operates the indicator light.  there are no other warning lights except TPMS which comes and goes.  Any thoughts? Anyone had this issue?
