91LS.New2Me Posted July 9 Share Posted July 9 We just inherited my in-laws’ 91 LS400 for our 19 year old daughter a few days ago. They bought the car new and have maintained it meticulously, but it hasn’t been driven much since 2006. We want to upgrade the stereo to Apple CarPlay so my daughter can listen to music, have navigation, and talk on the phone hands-free, but I keep reading stories about the security system kicking in for various reasons and people not being able to start their cars. I don’t know what I don’t know, so thought I would ask the experts on here if we need to be aware of anything in particular before we change it out. We have both original keys and the extra key “card” is still in bubble wrap. I also want to replace the battery in the key, and bought a CR1216 but I’m nervous to do it on my own!
