Mooseman Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 Just bought a 2009 ES 350 with 90k miles on it and decided to try it out in manual. I’ve noticed that when shifting gears in either direction, it takes a second for the car to shift, say about a 3 second delay. My first thought was that there could be low transmission fluid, but I just got the car inspected a month ago and no problems. Any tips? Thanks!
Ed Fenwick Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 I don't know about your inspection station, but to check the fluid level is kind of involved. I think that the car must be up on all fours and level. engine running and at a specific trans fluid temperature. ' hope they did all this. Ed 1

Thank you!
Mooklaa Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Mine does that also, I think it's normal for the car tho, did you ever find anything out?
Mooseman Posted July 25 Author Posted July 25 Nah, If yours does it too I’m sure it’s just the way the car was designed.
Mooklaa Posted July 28 Posted July 28 They make a v6 350 transmission booster kit that's supposed to help w this, there's video's of lexus owners talking about it on you tube, I know its this type in the pic, but not 100% sure this is the exact model, Between this and the pedal commander throttle body enhancer its sapossed to drastically increase the performance, I just ordered the Pedal commander..

Thank you so much! I’ll have to look into this.
Mooklaa Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Cool no problem, Let me know if you get anywhere.. I know the transmission boosters go by the model number of your transmission, so that's the thing you want to be sure of, and maybe what other models of Lexus have the same tranny, that should make it easier to find info or video's on it, I think I first heard about it on a best mods for the Is 250 /350 type video. I plan on doing / researching more on this also but I'm neck deep in working on a High Fi Stereo / Nav system / amp / speaker upgrade in my 08 Es currently
Mooklaa Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Also just out of curiosity what kind of shape is your dashboard in, Is it showing any signs of the "Sticky dash" or melting dashboard problem?
Mooklaa Posted July 30 Posted July 30 After extensive research, this is the best stereo / Nav set up I decided to go with.. In case any other 07 to 2012 es owners are interested, You Can find them on Ebay, Mine should arrive next week, I'll update

Yeah, it’s got some stick to it 😂 I got mine professionally cleaned when I bought the car so It’s probably better than it was. I’m sure it has something to do with being out in the sun.
Mooklaa Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Lol, Yeah Same, It's a thing in these cars unfortunately, Lexus was replacing them for free, but sadly that ended in 2020.. I got a nice black custom fit dash mat w a lexus logo for mine on Amazon, I think it was $40, Looks nice in the car and keeps the dash from getting worse tho..
