chriskes Posted September 24, 2004 Posted September 24, 2004 I took my 2003 ls400 in to a local shop to try and have my xm properly wired and installed. Turns out that the 2003 radio does not have the correct input to be hard wired directly to the xm radio-- they called lexus dealer and he said they had a harness but it only works on 2004 radio and later. The fm modulator wouldn't work either-- so now I still have to use the cassette adapter in the tape deck. This 2003 radio seems to have been some type of misfit-- Has anyone encountered this problem and gotten around it somehow??? I did find a pretty good mount for the xm radio from a company called Pro.fit on the internet. Really good instructions came with it. Thanks for any help. Chris Kesling
griegert Posted November 1, 2004 Posted November 1, 2004 Chris, I too have a 2003 LS430 and would like to install a Sat radio. Have you had any luck yet?
zube Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 You can do a fm modulated xm. The factory fm tuner is is in the trunk passenger side. You will see there is two antennas they actually look like a xm radio antenna. One thick and one thin.Thin one you will leave alone. Thick one is the one you want. You will have to use volvo antenna adapter made by metra. There is a little modifacations required. If i recall right 2003 you will need bmw antennas adapters. 2003 antennas are in seperate molex plugs. 2004 are both in 1 molex plug. I hope this helps if you need any more info email me.
