SpinDiva Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 :o I seem to have blown a rear 02 sensor. The dealer has priced the part at $125, and 2.5 hrs labor due to the need to remove the back seat. Almost $500 total. Does this seem correct? Please respond to Andeeme@aol.com Thanks! Andrea
steviej Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 the O2 sensor is actually cheap to about right. but, (there is always a but) why on earth does he need to remove the rear seat. The O2 sensors aren't back there. They are under the car, in the exhaust after the cat. At least on all the cars I have worked on. Maybe an IS owner that has replace the rear O2 sensor has some words of wisdom. Unless there is a fuel pump problem and they need to access the tank???? steviej
lilbaggie Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 hi that sounds about right. i have an 02 Sportcross (60k) and Glendale Lexus just charged me ~$400 for that job. normally i do my own maintenance on my cars but i just bought the Lexus used (50k) and this is my first Japanese car. the 60k wasn't cheap either ($900-1000) so i'll be picking up a set of the factory manuals soon... meng
