90lsboy Posted September 1, 2004 Share Posted September 1, 2004 hello i currently have a 90 lexus LS 400, be leniant on me , i have moved up from a 1993 mustang 5.0 to my new 90 ls 400 and am looking forward on moving up in the lexus family maybe for awhile the sc4 or maybe the sc3 for fuel efficiency but might stay w the big body ls4 , love the style(look) and all the power and handling from it, nehow MY QUESTION: :cries: 1. she currentky only has this one annoying problem, left break light out , i got home lifted the trunk took out the housing or bulbs and there are two by one another, the left one i could tell was burned out , guessin it to be the brake light so i replaced it w the new, and of course checked the part number and it is the right one and is correct within lexus standards , but when the lights are on there is no brake light, when off and you push brake pedal they show as you breaking , why is this PLEASE GET BACK m thnx so much , u will be a big help, KC Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Lexls Posted September 1, 2004 Share Posted September 1, 2004 The corners each have 3 bulbs in them, 2 1157 bulbs (the brake lights) and one 1156 bulb (the turn signal). 1157 bulbs have two filaments in them, my guess is that one of those is burnt out. That would explain why the night time lights don't all light up, but all the stop bulbs do light up. Put in a new 1157 bulb and you should be good to go B). flanker271 Posted September 2, 2004 Share Posted September 2, 2004 I think he meant when his headlights are off and he press the brake, all rear brake lights light up.
